Giving back is and always has been a big part of the GO DNA. As we do for our clients in creating impactful Corporate Responsibility campaigns, GO Communications has undertaken a number of social programmes pledging our commitment to a number of charitable causes.

The author Micheal de Kretser (CEO GO Comm) has pledged all the royalties from the book - GO For It! A roller-coaster Public Relations adventure to the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia.

This is the first time any author in Malaysia has pledged royalties to a charity.
The book was published by MPH and launched to over 500 guests at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.

GO Communications created an annual social responsibility charity event for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association.
For the first time in Malaysia, an 'unofficial' Ashes Test match between Australia and England was played at the Royal Selangor Club.

Teams were made up of expats living and working in Malaysia.
The world's fastest bowler, Australian Jeff Thomson, was the special guest and opened the bowling for Australia.
A cricket memorabilia auction was also held at a pre-match cocktail function.

The President of the Malaysian Cricket Association, Tunku Pete Imran, the official patron of the cricket match, presented the ashes to the winning captain. Tunku Pete said, "I must congratulate Peter de Kretser of Australia for dreaming up such a wonderful and interesting way to support the charity. Cricket is a sport that develops character and friendship."

The President of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association, Ms. Ranjit Kaur said, "The Ashes cricket match is a unique and fun way to raise funds for our association." Over RM50,000 was raised for Breast Cancer.

An annual Christmas programme where GO colleagues support the children from the House of Hope in Penang. Children from the House of Hope typically come from broken homes and are without the basic amenities needed in day-to-day life. Each year, GO Communications donates a wide variety of staple items such as soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste to support over 200 kids in an extremely notable and worthwhile cause. The Team at GO also participate in a ‘Secret Santa’ with colleagues purchasing a gift for a child making their Christmas all the more special!

GO Communications was privileged to support Malaysia’s very own ‘Mother Theresa’, Mother Mangalam, with the promotion of her recent book of poetry. Mother Mangalam schools a non-for-profit centre, The Pure Life Society, enabling young homeless or orphan kids to have a chance at education. At the tender age of 88 years, GO Communications continues to support Mother Mangalam in all her endeavours for the betterment of Malaysia’s youth society.
