Starbucks Malaysia has appointed GO Communications to manage its public relations and communications initiatives throughout the country. According to a press statement, the appointment marks the first ever agency appointed by the global coffee house in Malaysia for public relations purposes. This comes as the brand celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

According to Sydney Quays (pictured right), managing director of Starbucks Malaysia, and CEO of Berjaya Food Berhad, the brand is looking for better ways to serve and make its mark within communities in Malaysia. As such, it is pleased to team up with GO Communications to take the Starbucks brand "to greater heights in the country".

"Sharing similar values and business ethics, we believe we have found the right partner to further expand our brand and footprint in the country," Quays added.

"We are truly grateful for their faith and confidence to have us as their first PR agency of choice. I take this opportunity to congratulate Starbucks on its 20th anniversary and look forward to working together with them in years to come," Peter de Kretser (pictured left), chief executive officer of GO Communications, said.
